• Be aware of your surroundings
• Remember the big D for danger
• How many people are involved?
• Is there immediate danger to you or others?
• Is anyone else available to help you?
• Is the victim responsive or unconscious?
• Is the victim breathing?
• Is the victim bleeding?
• If you are alone, CALL 911 before giving care to an adult or child if they are unconscious. For unconscious infant give care first for two minutes before calling EMS.
